Harvard Innovation Labs

Think first. Then multiply.

TheDirectLine teaches students to use AI as a multiplier on their own thinking, not a replacement for it.

The problem

Students are already using AI.

Most tools let it do the thinking for them.

The students who learn to use it well mostly already have every advantage.

How it works

Organic intelligence first. AI second.

  1. Step 01

    Think First

You answer the teacher's drill on your own. AI stays locked until you submit.

  2. Step 02

    Multiply

You write up to 3 prompts to Claude. A coach scores each one on clarity, context, and constraints. You write the final answer.

  3. Step 03

    Reflect

You write what the AI added and what it got wrong. That's where the learning sticks.

For teachers

You run it. You see everything.

  • Set up in under a minute

Create a class and share a join code. That's it.

  • Drills you approve

Type a topic. Claude drafts the drill. You edit it before students see it.

  • See the thinking

Your dashboard shows each Think First answer, final answer, prompt scores, and reflection side by side.

For districts

AI literacy without the enterprise price tag.

Priced per seat

Pay for the students you serve. No enterprise AI contracts.

Minimal student data

A display name and a school email. Nothing else.

Built for FERPA review

Designed so your privacy team can review it fast.

Students write the answer

The AI never writes a student's final answer.
